ZF Alundum®
A cast, fused alumina zirconia abrasive product by Saint-Gobain Industrial Ceramics in a proprietary process. It is a dense, tough abrasive with exceedingly fine crystal size due to the quick cooling it receives in Norton's unique casting process. ZF Alundum consists of 25% zirconia. It is crushed to produce a blocky shape with sharp edges. It has a very blocky shape with rounded, mulled edges. It is a remarkably tough abrasive with maximum impact resistance.
Applications
- hot pressed resin bonded steel conditioning wheels where it has demonstrated remarkable life and stock removal properties.
