CARBOLON® SA

CARBOLON SA is a domestically produced 83% nominal silicon carbide briquette, sized at 2" X 2.5" X 1.25" and manufactured specifically for use in the iron and steel industry. It is a prime source of silicon and carbon, and due to its powerful deoxidizing effect, CARBOLON SA imparts metallurgical benefits to the metal and enhances furnace lining life.

Applications

• Basic oxygen furnace production of gray, ductile or malleable iron and steel
• As a solid fuel in the production of steel, used to replace hot metal or adjust temperature
• Reduce metal from metal oxides in slag; improve recoveries of valuable elements such as manganese and chromium
