A laminate is a material made by joining together two or more layers of material and sealing them through heat and pressure. Products using laminates may include: flooring, tabletops, work surfaces, and counter tops. Laminates are designed to be tough, durable, and scratch resistant. Abrasives are an essential material used in making the laminate. A thin film of abrasive is adhered to the layers of material thus providing the wear resistance properties needed to make the laminate tough enough to stand up to heavy wear.
